Strawberry Pickin' out at Woods Orchards in Hampton, VA
We had a hayride out to the strawberry patch. Always very fun!
We ate lunch at a skate park in Hampton, and then Jude checked out the equipment. He was so scared at first, but when he saw some bigger guys doing tricks, he started to perk up and act cool. He especially liked riding the skateboard down the half-pipe on his bottom.
No, he did not throw himself down the ramp. Just a great set-up shot.
Well, we decided after a semester of home schooling to try to get Jude into Ghent school. While I immensely enjoyed teaching Jude, I struggled to find the time to fulfill my other responsibilities. Ghent school was our first choice to begin with. We found out that Jude had been accepted after we had made the decision to home school in the fall. Thankfully, they had room for him this winter!
He started on Thursday, and everything seems to be going smoothly. He's not happy about the lack of play time at school, but seems to get along with the other children and with his teacher, Miss Cotterell. We are happy that he had already completed his PALS test, which means he won't have to test in this new environment. Miss Cotterell is feeling good about his scores-- that he is on schedule or ahead in all areas. Yay!
